All fixed, check them out now, sorry!
wrong questions
Sep 2nd, 2010 by charters
Well, it was a hectic day today. It started off brilliantly when Kerren visited us and read a favourite short story. Then we learned which AfL player had the best conversion rate and went out and kicked some footies ourselves. Next up was dice football and finally the football finals game. Mrs Healey had had it by the end of the day. Roll on Friday. Don’t forget: free dress day in aid of very special kids.
Why don’t you set up your blog by checking your school email account and signing in for the first time? All the class blogs are listed in my blogroll with hyperlinks to all of them.
Winners so far..
Sep 1st, 2010 by charters
Congratulations, Ryan! You are the winner from Monday, with all answers correct. Well done, Elliot! You got 2 correct answers and were pretty quick with your response as well.
So far for Tuesday’s questions: no winner, no correct answers!! So if you haven’t had a go, give them a try. Here’s some clues: Q1, don’t be distracted by the number of socks, count the number of colours and think about how many socks you would need to pick before a double up.
Q2: Draw out this problem using a tree diagram. Q3: Divide the sum of the set by the average. That will tell you how many numbers are in the set, this might begin to help you work this out.
Not many responses for Wednesday, Pierce and Natalie both have 1 answer correct so have another go guys!!

Numeracy and Literacy Week
Aug 31st, 2010 by charters
Check out the maths questions on the other pages and ask mum or dad to help if they are around. There’s a prize for the first correct answers, winners announced on Friday.
As well as special numeracy activities, we are interested in hearing mums or dads read their favourite books/stories. I am trying to read a short excerpt from my favourites everyday. So far there’s been The Hobbit, which inspired someone from 6H to start reading it already!
What are your favourite books? Leave a comment or a review, I’d love to read your thoughts!
End of Term 2
Jun 21st, 2010 by charters
My goodness, I set up this blog weeks ago and I’ve been soooooooooo busy that I haven’t visited since!!!!! It is now nearly the end of the term and we have had a great time learning about The Australian Gold Rush. The hut building was a success in 6H and there are a great selection of huts dotted around the classroom. Next term we are going to be studying ‘Marine Life’ and I hope that it will prove as interesting.
Gold Fever in 6H!
May 10th, 2010 by charters
I can’t believe that it is Week 5 of Term 2 already!! There is so much going on in 6H at the moment it’s just crazy.
Does the header look familiar to any of the Canberra campers? It should do, as it is part of Sidney Nolan’s Ned Kelly series; something that we saw in the National Art Gallery when we were there recently. It was wonderful to see those paintings in real life.
The Aussie Gold Rush is well and truly under way in Grade 6H. We are all currently living at the Diggings and keeping a journal of our time there. Miners, Panners and Cradlers have been frantically looking for gold. On Monday, we held our first auction in our town and several businesses were snapped up. We have a General Store, Universal Suppliers, Apothecary, Draper and Grocers. Some people are getting quite rich and others have been loaning money already. It is a lot of fun and everyone is really enjoying what we are doing and learning a lot.
